We have just the one WNBA game tonight as the Phoenix Mercury take on the Indiana Fever.
For those wondering it takes a few games for my computer system to take in all the data, look for consistencies etc so it’ll be a few more games for that system to have betting tips.
Generally I like to go with at least 5 games played per team to start gathering those stats. May be a bit longer in regard to some teams such as the LA Sparks with the missing players.
My own personal WNBA Tips record for the season so far is 2-0, after a nice opening day.
So tonight the Phoenix Mercury host the Indiana Fever.
The Fever go into this at 0-1 after losing their first road game of the season against the Storm. It was a competitive game but the Storm managed to preval.
The Mercury suffered a big loss to the young guns of Dallas as the Wings beat them 68-58.
The Mercury go into this one as slight favourites at -3.5 odds according to Bovada.
This is a tough one.
There’s been a lot of changes to the Phoenix Mercury lineup and that may not be for the better – especially based on Sundays display.
However it could have also been an off game for them. I’m hesitant to bet against them just yet.
I can’t fully back the Fever either as I was really disappointed in their performance versus the Seattle Storm. The Storm were missing Sue Bird and were giving up a lot of turnovers yet the Fever couldn’t take advantage.
Just based on the first games so far, my betting system leans towards the Fever to cover the point spread here but it’s very, very tight.
I’d personally advise against betting on this game. I just think there are too many question marks. If I was to take something though it would be the Under 157 points.
Both teams had fairly poor offenses – especially the Mercury – in the first game. I don’t think we’ll see as many turnovers this game and I think we’ll see the Mercury try and play a bit more tighter, controlling game.
However that’s not an official betting tip. I know some of my readers just like a bet for the game so if I was going with one
Enjoy the game tonight.
