May 14th, 2017 WNBA Betting Tips

It was a 2-0 start to the WNBA season which was nice as both picks came in yesterday.

I went with the LA Sparks -6 and they covered with a score of 78-68. I pretty much nailed it yesterday saying that the Storm would start well but fade off. The Storm went into the half just 1 behind however the Sparks came out strong in the second half and got the win.

My other tip was Dream +7 and we didn’t even need the points in that pone as the Dream won. Even without McCoughtry the Dream looked damn good. They got an early lead and managed to keep it and had a very good 4th quarter.

There are 4 games today however looking at each game there’s nothing I particularly like in terms of betting. It’s always tough at the start of the season.

Instead I’m going to do some brief analysis of each game for those who still want to bet.

Stars at Mystic: I tipped the Mystics to win the WNBA Championship so obviously I think they’ll win this one. However the point spread is too much for me at 15.5 points.

I will rarely bet a point spread like this simply because you’re asking “Will the Mystics just beat up on the Stars” and it’s always hard to predict that.

The Mystics have a lot of hype around them but to be honest at the beginning of the season everyones a bit off and it can take time to get in the same mindset etc. I’d probably prefer the points in this one.

Wings at Mercury: This is one I’m really not sure about. A lot of changes to the Mercury and I think they should take this however all that change can be nuts. The Wings are a nice young team so they’ll be good to watch during the season – I don’t think they’ll make the playoffs but they should have some fun games out there.

I’m close to backing the Mercury at -8 but I’m going to hold off. I do think they’re the better team but the Wings will be up for it. If you’re betting I’d prefer to be on Mercury though.

Fever at Storm: Speaking of changes – man, the Fever. No more Catchings anymore and a new coach. They have Dupree though now which is awesome. I’d normally take them here but I want to see how the Storm bounce back after that loss yesterday.

They were without Bird and Stewart as I was hoping for and they lost in a game where they will be kicking themselves.

I’d love to be on the Fever here however the Storm have already played a game and that’s important I always find. They’ll be coming out looking for a win big time and I’m going to hold off. I’d take Fever though.

Sky at Lynx: I’d like to take the Lynx here but the points are too much for me. However if you’re betting that’s who I would go for. A couple of key injuries for Chicago and the Lynx are of course the more experienced team.
